| My work is about defining moments, hidden patterns, the perfect light, textures, and the use of vivid colors. I am intrigued by the play of light on different subjects. I constantly search for shifting light and its transforming influence on textures, shadows, and colors. The quality and direction of light can change instantaneously over the course of each and every day. Clouds drift across the sky, sometimes letting the light shine through, sometimes glowing with the colors of a sunrise or sunset. There are places that have their own distinctive atmosphere, their own mystery and history, their own story to tell. These are the energies I attempt to bring out through my own vision. For me, as a photographer, it is the right combination of subject, light and technical skill that makes a successful photograph. Ultimately, I want my images to feature unexpected and yet natural elements that surprise and intrigue. |
